By the time this gets posted it will already be May 8. Earlier in the week the celebration of Cinco de Mayo took place throughout Latino and Spanish speaking communities. Here in San Francisco it’s a tradition to go out for good Mexican food and music all while being bombarded by Corona marketing promos.

Have you been thinking about ways to work with advertisers and publishers serving a Spanish speaking audience online? There are a number of networks emerging to serve this segment of online marketers . One of them is our current partner, FOX Networks. Consider contacting to learn more on its programs in this market.

Coming up the first week of June, Miami will be the host of the next Ad:Tech and the conference tracks are specifically tailored towards online marketing strategies for the Hispanic and Latin American markets.

My bi-lingual skills are a little bit rusty but I will include a small plug for Revenue’s upcoming Issue 24 ,which will be published as Revenue Gold (or Revenue de Oro) our 2008 Sourcebook and industry directory. Please contact our sales team to learn more about company listing and ad placement opportunities.

Nearly everyone I talked over the past two weeks while exhibiting at the shows and making the rounds through panel sessions and social functions has been enthusiastic about the business climate and new technologies for online marketers in the second half the year. It was also great to hear such great candid feedback about the magazine and websites. End user participation was one of the prevalent themes at both events.

As you begin planning for the second half of the year let us to bring you up to speed on what’s coming up with the magazine. We are currently working on our upcoming Issue 23,

I’m embarrassed to say that I’m not sophisticated enough to produce a video blog on my own at this point in time, but I’m still honing the craft in text before jumping in with the rich media crowd. And if your video site is driving traffic I’m sure the advertising and sponsorship opportunities will soon follow.

In between the first week of March Madness I was able to focus on a couple new projects we are working on at Revenue, including new industry resource and buyers guides that will be published this year. Stay tuned for new updates on media kits, ad placement and company listing opportunities that will be available. We will have additional information available in the next couple weeks.

Hopefully your NCAA brackets are still in play as we head into the second week of games on today. If anyone is doing a video blog that features bracket performance analysis with performance marketing, I’ll surely tune in for that.

It’s the third week of March, which means one thing - let’s celebrate. Know one needed an excuse on St. Patty’s Day to join in for the annual celebration of all things green. And beginning Thursday it’s time get on board with March Madness. The 2008 NCAA basketball tournament gets into full swing with games round the clock as teams square off in David & Goliath match ups to determine this year’s champion. I only have one tip for you this year - jump on the bandwagon and go with UCLA to win it all.

Speaking of tournaments one of our magazine advertisers, QuitYourDayJob.com, recently ran an ad design contest on 99designs.com, a website where ad designers can respond to requests from advertisers to submit new ad designs. It’s a very cool site that allows the advertiser to share feedback with the designers and enables them to submit unlimited revisions to the ad until the advertiser finds the design they like. Here’s the hook: the advertiser only has to pay the designer who creates the winning ad design! 99designs looks like another great collaboration resource that should come in handy as you are planning for your next ad in Revenue.

In the meantime, I seem to be getting a plethora of messages and well wishes on Facebook today. What a pleasant surprise to see all the birthday love pouring in from near and far. Cheers everyone and Happy Birthday to all the March 19the babies worldwide.

So, if you’re looking stay in tune with the marketplace you need to advertising in Revenue.

It’s the last week of January and the Super Bowl XLII kick-off is only a couple days away. Whether or not you have a vested interest in the Patriots clearing their last hurdle to complete the undefeated season or are jumping on the Giants bandwagon is not the point.

The most important thing is that you not only watch the game which is expected to be the largest viewing audience in Super Bowl history - 140 million - but that you stay glued to the tube while you lay witness to the latest in advertising technology at a cost of – hold your breath - $2.7 million dollars for a 30 second spot!

I was browsing around the net to get some of the scoop on what we may or may not see during the big game.

GoDaddy.com is showing one of the ads it submitted that was banned from airing on Super Sunday. I wonder how much traffic having a banned Super Bowl ad will drive to GoDaddy’s website?

This year advertisers like Frito-Lay are embracing Web 2.0 and are driving viewers to its website to vote and share feedback on the ads it is considering for the Super Bowl.

Here are a couple more related articles from the Wall Street Journal and CNN that touch on interactive marketing and Super Bowl advertising.

So, I’m wondering, do you solicit feedback from your users and customers about the types of ads you are considering for Revenue? If I recall correctly we had a new advertiser recently post the ad creative it was considering for Revenue on the eWealth forum and the company made its decision on which ad to run based on a democratic vote within in the forum. We’ll have to follow up with the advertiser to see how the process worked for them.

If you weren’t able to make the creative deadline for your Super Bowl ad and have some budget left over, we are happy to help. Revenue is currently winding down the allocation of ad placements in the March/April edition of the magazine, which has bonus distribution that includes the Ad:Tech San Francisco conference in April. Contact our ad sales team today to request a 2008 Media Kit and ad rate card. Ad placement deadlines are coming up on February 8.

For those who are in San Francisco this week for the LinkShare Summit we will have members our advertising team attending the event and look forward to re-connecting with you.

Welcome to 2008! We hope you found time during the holidays for some R&R and are excited about what lies ahead. It seems like the new year is off to a flying start and now that the annual SF local Maverick’s big wave surf contest is out of the way let’s get right down to the latest news related to your 2008 media plans and upcoming advertising opportunities here at Revenue.

Starting in February we will be increasing the frequency of our email newsletter, which means more new content for our readers and new banner placements for our advertisers. Be sure to check back here in the next couple weeks as I will have additional updates on the newsletter production schedule, launch dates and ad placement availability. Our 2008 kick-off newsletter is scheduled to launch this week on January 17. Be sure to sign up for the newsletter today so you don’t miss out.

Over on the magazine side we are currently working on the upcoming March/April spring edition. This is consistently one of our biggest issues of the year and we have some great premium ad placements available.

Are you thinking of going big with something like a two-page spread? Would you prefer the back cover? Regardless of your positioning an ad placement in the March/April issue will put your company front and center with our audience that includes industry leading events such as: Ad:Tech San Francisco; Search Engine Strategies New York; and the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco.

Now is the time to contact our advertising team to request a copy of our 2008 Media Kit and discuss upcoming ad placement availability. Ad closing deadline is coming up on February 1.

For those who crave data analytics and would like to know a little more about the demographics of the Revenue audience, here are some bullet points from a recent survey of our readers:

*86 percent are involved with interactive marketing for their company on a day-to-day basis

*82 percent recommend, purchase or approve interactive marketing solutions

*50 percent are C-level and VP executives

If you are making your way to the LinkShare Summit in San Francisco at the end of January we will have representatives from our advertising team attending the event. Please feel free to contact us in advance if you would like to schedule a time to meet.

We look forward to reconnecting and helping you grow your revenue in 2008.
