Boo! Sorry to spook you like that. I probably scared you after taking a little time off from blogging to regroup and get ready for the holidays. The Revenue Halloween costume award this year goes to Eduardo Fenili, our new Account Manager, who came with the serious throw back costume and busted out as the 80’s pop icon Pee Wee Herman.
We are in a time warp and are fast forwarding to securing ad placements for the January/February 2008 issue. If you are in the middle of working out your 2008 marketing and advertising plans we would like to hear from you to discuss the different advertising opportunities in the magazine, website and e-mail newsletter. Our 2008 Media Kit is currently available by request.

I’ve been really busy wrapping up September and getting on with October. The change of season is in the air including post-season baseball, which jumped off with an exciting game between the Padres and Rockies on Monday night.
Our first pitch for October starts with today’s launch of our monthly newsletter - a must read and keeps you posted on updates from our Editor-in-Chief; new online content including 5 Questions with Bob Schober, President of Cartfly; Ask Jim Kukral; Inside Track; Industry Jobs; and upcoming Marketing Events.
In sports, the talk this week has been all about cloak and dagger espionage and illegal sign stealing by the Patriots, the best team in the NFL. It is yet another representation of the things teams, companies and people do to gain an advantage.
For the readers of Revenue spying is not focused on corporate espionage, but relates to businesses that use or sell spyware and adware products and how that impacts online marketing. We are doing our best to maintain best practices that don’t condone that kind of unethical behavior.
I trust you enjoyed the Labor Day holiday and are ready to get to what promises to be an exciting month. And I’m not just talking about this week’s kick-off to the 2007 football season.
We launched our September newsletter yesterday with news and updates about the next edition (November/December 2007) of Revenue; along with a column on how to promote niche merchants effectively by Jamie Birch, director of affiliate relations at Converseon; and Stuart McKelvey, CEO of TMP Directional Marketing is this month’s guest for the 5 Questions; along with the Ask Jim Kukral column. The final week of summer is upon us and I imagine lots of folks are squeezing in one last chance for vacation before we get ready for the fall and holiday season.
Coincidentally, this time of year of also happens to be prime time advertising season. Many advertisers are launching ad campaigns across the board in magazines, on the web, TV and radio that tie in with the back to school season, fall fashion and the looming of the holiday shopping season.

This is your last shot to secure your ad placement in for this isuue, which promises to be the biggest issue of Revenue for 2007. In addition, our advertising team will be making the rounds through the expo hall and checking out the conference tracks.
If you would like to schedule a time to meet up at SES, let us know. The entire sales team will be chained to our keyboards and phones for the next couple days so it shouldn’t be too difficult to track us down.
While all of us here in San Francisco were pausing to reflect on the passing of Bill Walsh, the former head coach of the 49ers and one of the most successful coaches in the history of the NFL, up steps Barry Bonds last night to mark his place in history.
Even with all the hoopla of Bonds breaking Hank Aaron’s career home run record*, I still have much Revenue business to concentrate on. We have a couple ad placements available in the upcoming September/October issue and we can still squeeze you in. Follow up with our advertising sales team this week to secure your ad placement in the biggest issue of the year. The ad creative deadline for this issue is August 15.
