I trust you enjoyed the Labor Day holiday and are ready to get to what promises to be an exciting month. And I’m not just talking about this week’s kick-off to the 2007 football season.
We launched our September newsletter yesterday with news and updates about the next edition (November/December 2007) of Revenue; along with a column on how to promote niche merchants effectively by Jamie Birch, director of affiliate relations at Converseon; and Stuart McKelvey, CEO of TMP Directional Marketing is this month’s guest for the 5 Questions; along with the Ask Jim Kukral column. There is a lot going on this week and you should have received our August Newsletter which launched on Wednesday. I hope everyone had a safe and relaxing Fourth of July holiday. Out here in San Francisco we had unheard of record blazing temps soaring into the 90’s which made it a perfect day for beach and BBQ. And fireworks could be seen for miles as our notorious summer fog failed to make its usual unceremonious appearance on Independence Day.
It’s another busy week here on the Westside, so let’s get right to it.
Our June e-mail newsletter launched today with new exclusive content, upcoming industry events and advertising offers. Check for the latest updates on the magazine and website from our Editor-in-Chief, Lisa Picarille; the Affiliate Tip by Tiffany Guarnaccia, marketing and communications manager at MIVA; 5 Questions with Neil Perry of XLNTads; the Ask Jim Kukral column; and the latest on industry movers and shakers in the Inside Track. You can sign up here subscribe to the Revenue newsletter.
I’ve recovered from the all the holiday weekend festivities, which included a BBQ, recreation and the annual Carnival parade and street fair that kicked off the summer season here in San Francisco. Even our classic foggy weather couldn’t stop the spirit of the samba dancers, bateria drummers and calypso bands that made their way through the streets generating the heat and staying warm in feather boas and glitter. If you can’t make the trip to Rio, I highly recommend coming to SF for the next best thing.
Since we are riffing on a Latino theme this week be sure to look for the May/June issue which will be distributed at the these upcoming conferences in Miami: Search Engine Strategies Latino; Ad:Tech and Affiliate Summit East. You can get all the dates and registration details on our events calendar.
After riding high for several weeks of action packed fun and excitement following the Golden State Warriors and their run through the NBA playoffs, this Cinderella story finally came to a close last night in Salt Lake City. Cry not for me as the Warriors far exceeded expectations this year and like they say in Vegas we were playing with house money.
It was great to see so many of our partners and advertisers who were in town for Ad:Tech last week. We thoroughly enjoyed the quality time spent dining and dancing around town for the week. After two weeks straight of conference fanfare it’s time for us here at Revenue to buckle down and get back to the grind.
Our May email newsletter launched today so be sure to sign up and check it for updates from our editor-in-chief regarding the content we are currently developing for the July/August issue, along with the Affiliate Tip by Gary Marcoccia, Five Questions with Skip Brand from JiWire and the Ask Jim Kukral column.
If you’re attending Ad:Tech San Francisco this week be sure to stop by Booth 5001. That’s where the Revenue team will be for the next two days. While you’re at our booth you can pick up the current issue of the magazine, sign up for a free subscription, meet our advertising sales team. And if you’re lucky you just might catch our Editor-in-Chief, Lisa Picarille, who will be moderating a Performance Marketing panel on Thursday from 2:45-3:45pm in room 131.
Did I actually say that last week was one of the busiest weeks I can remember? Well, apparently I was wrong because we are knee deep in deadlines this week and I barely have time to update you on the advertising side of Revenue.
First and foremost if you are advertising or planning to advertise in the upcoming May/June Issue 17 your ad creative materials are due this Friday, April 13. For those that are superstitious I highly recommend you deliver your ad materials on Thursday.
If you’re totally busy this week, you’re not alone. In fact, I can’t recall a more jam-packed week of holidays and events – starting with the Final 4 last weekend. (And yes, I ended up playing the fool when UCLA got scratched from the brackets.) Then there was Passover earlier this. And did I hear them say, “Play Ball!” yesterday down the street at AT&T Park? We wrap up the week with Good Friday and Easter.
If that isn’t enough, the April email newsletter is launching today. Don’t miss out on our exclusive content and interviews only available to our newsletter subscribers.
