Doing the Ad:Tech NY Boogie

November 7th, 2007

This week’s post comes from Ad:Tech New York, where the interactive and performance marketing industry has congregated for a week of education, networking and frolicking about in The Big Apple.

Day 1 kicked off on Monday with the opening of the Exhibit Hall featuring over 500 companies with extravagant booths, attention-grabbing props and fun giveaways that ranged from autographed guitars to iPhones to branded schwag. Conference goers filled their goodie bags and made the rounds through a maze of three floors while schmoozing with exhibitors.

As the first day of exhibiting wound down there was high energy throughout the building as everyone geared up for the evening events, which included several parties sponsored and hosted by the conference exhibitors at New York’s hottest dance clubs. You had to be on top of your game in order to hit them all.

Datran Media got things rolling at Marquis, which was followed by the MediaWhiz jam at Club Strata. For the main event many folks headed to The Money Makers after-party at PACHA, which was hosted by a collaboration of sponsors including XY7.com, Pepperjam, TheBizOppNetwork, Options Media, Zanox, EDebitPay and more.

This party lived up to hype and those in attendance were pumped for the special guest live performances by TURBO from the movie “Breakin,” KOOL DJ Red Alert and the headliner Rob Base performing the old school hip hop hits “It Takes Two” and “Joy and Pain.” It was a great night of fun filled boogie for all.

Day 2 kicked off on Tuesday with the conference keynote entitled “The New Media Universe: Forging a Model of Interdependence” delivered Nick Brien, Worldwide CEO of Universal McCann. It was followed by a full slate of panels that covered various themes including: Media & Branding; Emerging Platforms; Performance Marketing & Consumer Behavior and the Ad:Tech Exchange Series: Where do we go from here?
The day wound down with the closing of the Exhibit Hall portion of the conference and there are still two more days to go with more conference panels taking place all day Wednesday and Thursday.
