Who Called the Police?

July 18th, 2007

I’m back from the Miami tropics and the SF fog has never felt finer.

I was over the top and all consumed by the work, heat and activities revolving around the Affiliate Summit East conference in Miami. There was a great turnout for the event and a steady stream of booth traffic. It was great to catch up with our partners and meet everyone that stopped by the Revenue booth to learn more about how to participate and share their thoughts about the magazine. We signed up lots of new subscriptions and had fun with the live booth video streaming.

The South Beach parties helped make this one of the best Affiliate Summits ever.
And I second the notion that poolside cocktails hosted by DoubleClick Performics at The Shore Club along with the ShareASale/ABestWeb party at the Sagamore were this year’s most memorable Summit events.

A particularly memorable moment occurred when a couple of my peeps and I were outside the famed South Beach Delano Hotel on Tuesday night. We were negotiating our entry into the club when we were brushed aside as a couple of SUV’s rolled up. It was The Police. Yes, those Police. As in Sting, Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers. They had just finished their concert in Miami and strolled right past us into the club.

I may have caught a good look at celebrities in South Beach, but the real stars were the Affiliate Summit organizers. Thank you Missy Ward, Shawn Collins and Amy Rodriguez for outdoing yourselves once again. Revenue is looking forward to the next event in London at the September.

Stay tuned here as I begin talking about some of the different elements that can help you with your ad placements in Revenue. We’ll look at things like ad design, graphics and copy and conduct some informal polls to see what the people think.

So, there are lots of new things to be on the lookout for and we are working on our September/October issue, which is going to have bonus international distribution at conferences including like Ad:Tech London, Affiliate Summit London, CAP Euro Barcelona and the A4U Expo. This issue will sell out soon so we need to speak with you immediately if you are interested in securing an ad placement.
