I’ve spent much of the week at Web 2.0 Expo. Man, the show was good and very well attended. It was also super well organized. And the Blogtropul.us (a room for bloggers) was hopping with people streaming live, blogging, doing video and writing up real time accounts from the show. There was even yoga happening in there.

The last couple of days have been busy. We sent the Nov./Dec. issue of Revenue to the printer on Thursday and then I headed off to ShareASale ThinkTank in Scottsdale, Arizona Friday morning.
I did not attend the first ThinkTank, held last year in Las Vegas. But I feel privileged to have been among the 80 invited guests at this fantastic event, which was an incredible meeting of affiliates and merchants.
Held at a gorgeous resort, ThinkTank was ... More

I’m cleaning, organizing, emptying out the inbox, dealing with things that I’ve put off for weeks. So, today is the day that I put everything out on the virtual blog curb and hope someone picks it up…

I’m back in the office and still riding the high from the Affiliate Summit. I’m thrilled to be back in San Francisco where the humidity is less oppressive than Miami, but sad that the event is over.
Missy Ward and Shawn Collins do such a phenomenal job putting on the premiere conference of the affiliate space it’s no wonder that everyone is still buzzing about it long after it’s over.

Here’s the quick wrap up on day one of the Affiliate Summit’s full-day conference program. The keynote with Ze Frank was entertaining. There was definitely a message to be taken away from the speech that applies to this community but it was a little subtler than the average conference keynote. I enjoyed Ze very much and from my unscientific poll so did everyone else.
The sessions were crowded and very informational. There are four tracks running at the same time ... More

Sorry for the lag time in posting about the Web 2.0 Expo. I’ve got Mom 1.0 visiting for the week from the East Coast and in between the world of widgets and work there was a visit to wine country.
So, the Web 2.0 show held here in lovely San Francisco was teaming with people. There were more than 14,000 attendees and the level of buzz and excitement was infectious. I also spotted many folks reading Revenue Magazine (we ... More

Unless you live under a rock, you’ve probably have heard that Google announced last Friday (the 13th) plans to acquire DoubleClick. The price, a whopping $3.1 billion, is 10 times the multiple of DoubleClick’s revenue and is almost double the price Google paid for YouTube. Also, just two days before the deal was announced the whisper number on Wall Street for a purchase of DoubleClick was only $2 billion.
At the Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco on Tuesday, ... More
