I’ve spent much of the week at Web 2.0 Expo. Man, the show was good and very well attended. It was also super well organized. And the Blogtropul.us (a room for bloggers) was hopping with people streaming live, blogging, doing video and writing up real time accounts from the show. There was even yoga happening in there.
The panel I was on (The Changing Landscape of Affiliate Marketing: Bloggers, Social Media, & Online Merchants ) was bright and early on ... More

If you’re not using Twitter you’re missing out. Okay, I’ve given my Twitter conversion speech before and blogged about how useful it can be – even in odd situations.
Lately, there has been lots of talk about how the early adopters of Web 2.0 and technology love Twitter, but that’s preaching to the choir. Most of America still has no clue what Twitter is and trying to explain it ... More

Yesterday was my birthday and for weeks I was totally dreading it. Recently my personal life has been turned upside down. The thought of celebrating yet another year just didn’t feel right (or even possible) given that it’s been difficult to muster up a smile most days.
However, the day turned out to be a pretty good one because of my involvement with social media. Celebratory wishes, good vibes and of course “humor” about my advancing age poured in via Facebook, ... More

This is for all the people out there that provide me with endless hours of insight, status updates and humorous comments. You know who you are – Twitterers, bloggers, vloggers, and Facebook status updaters.
While I enjoy feeling a deeper connection to you and in some ways wish that I had the time and the fortitude to participate even more in sharing via all the emerging social media platforms, I definitely feel the need too hold back.
My concern - ... More

The location for Affiliate Summit East 2008 has been set. I’m delighted to be going to Boston for the conference and with a little luck maybe my “World Champion” Boston Red Sox will be playing at Fenway Park, which would make my trip back home even sweeter.
Check out this contest to win a free pass to Affiliate Summit.
And unless you’ve been living under a rock all week you know that Microsoft made an investment in Facebook. The ... More

Facebook and Twitter. They are common topics over here at Revenue. Not only because most of the staff is using both platforms, but also because our readers are curious about how to leverage each of the applications.
Personally I have found both to be incredibly useful. Naturally, I connect with friends, old classmates, former co-workers, but I also use Twitter and Facebook to poll my community of friends on current hot topics.
If I want to know if a particular ... More

Again, I feel hopelessly behind. I’ve let the blogging slide in favor of my obsession with Twitter and Facebook. Plus, I spent most of the week at Search Engine Strategies in San Jose. That means this entry will be another fabulous compilation of what’s been happening around the industry and in my little world.

I nearly forgot about blogging all week. I’d love to blame it on this huge deadline I’ve been facing, but I think it might be more about all the time I’ve been spending on Twitter and Facebook. I’m constantly sending and receiving information via both of those applications - as well as IM and email - so I’ve felt like I’ve already communicated most of my thoughts for the week (well, at least those that are PG or work-related).
But ... More

I’m now on Facebook.com. I didn’t go willingly but one of the groups that are very important to me moved from Yahoo to Facebook and I had to go with them in order to participate.
In most cases I’m eager to test drive the latest widget or social network or Web 2.0 application. However, all too often my enthusiasm fades very quickly and I move on when the initial excitement fades and I realize what a time suck it’s become ... More
