Like many of you I’m scrambling to wrap up all sorts of work projects before I head out to Affiliate Summit on Friday. I’m really looking forward to the conference and just hope that I will be able to complete all my work-related stuff and personal errands over the next two days. Hey, I can’t show up with split ends or less-than-perfectly-painted toes, can I?
Affiliate Summit officially kicks off on Sunday around noon with the Meet Market & vendor Showcase (it’s always one of my favorite times to network), but the informal networking and other events start as early as Friday evening. A number of folks are arriving on Friday night and there are already a bunch of groups gathering for various dinners and I’m guessing some gambling.
On Saturday there are two full day events that require separate registration from the summit. The Affiliate Manager Training LIVE is a one-day seminar that will teach affiliate marketing fundamentals and more. There is also the Ten Golden Rules Internet Marketing Boot Camp featuring a team of Internet marketing gurus including Jay Berkowitz, CEO, Ten Golden Rules, Ron Caporale CEO, Lifescript.com and James Martell Author of The Affiliate Marketer’s Handbook.
If that isn’t enough, there is the Affiliate Dinner on Saturday night, which will feature awards handed out by ABestWeb.com. Then I’m betting there will be more gambling.
For those that want to get spiritual on Sunday morning, there is the Christian Affiliate Marketers Association (CAMA) second annual Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. And for the fitness minded, a group of folks are gathering at the RIO on both Saturday and Sunday at 7am to talk a brisk 3mile walk. This is Vegas, people. Isn’t it illegal to get up that early – especially on the weekend?
Plus, there are a slew of swanky parties every evening of Summit, including the conference sponsored Affiliate Bash on Monday evening. And be sure to check out the second-annual Affiliate Summit Pinnacle Awards Gala on Monday night before the huge Bash. I’m excited to see who will win the six awards being given out. Revenue Magazine is honored to be among those up for the Most Vocal Advocate Award. We are in fantastic company and I would be thrilled to see any of these deserving folks take home the honor.
In addition to all that fun and schmoozing, I also have a few dinners slated with various companies that I have been trying to catch up with. Oh, yeah, I’, also looking forward to the Great Affiliate Road Rally on Tuesday night.
But for me, the show is all about the panels and sessions. I get so much information out of these sessions and usually return home inspired and more knowledgeable.
I hope people will feel that way about my panel – Getting Editorial Coverage: The Inside Scoop. It’s on Tuesday at 11:30am. Please come. I think you’ll learn some valuable lessons about strategies for working with the press.
Also, be sure to come by the Revenue booth (#126). On Monday at Noon I’ll be hanging out there to meet with anyone who stops by. And on Tuesday at Noon, Revenue Senior Writer Alexandra Wharton will be available at the booth for questions, comments, and general chatter.
Wow. That’s a lot to pack into four days, but I’m up for it. Are you?
