Everyone is talking about social media again this week. Some are still buzzing about the great Social Media Marketing Summit, which Revenue was involved in organizing last week. Then, this past Sunday, there was the Affiliate Summit: Social Marketing 2008, a one-day event in New York City. I couldn’t make it to the event, but heard it was information packed and fun. And next week, Federated Media and John Battelle are hosting the Conversational Media Summit in San Francisco. I scored a ticket to that exclusive event via Twitter (thanks, @johnbattelle).
There are many reasons for online marketers to embrace social media:
*Social media marketing is an inexpensive way to get measurable results
*More businesses are starting to present their success stories
*Social media marketing helps build communities and engages customers
*The necessary tools to execute campaign using social media are getting better and more available
*It’s new and innovative and marketers are creative folks
*It addresses many pieces of the CRM puzzle that have been difficult to get a handle on
*It can be useful in brand building
For the past month, businesses, brands, online marketers, agencies, and others have been sharing with me with the unique social media strategies they are using to get results. It’s been so exciting to talk about their campaigns and what they have planned for the future. It’s certainly gotten me very excited about the possibilities.
Let me know what you have been doing when it comes to social media.
