Thanks to all our great speakers and attendees at this week’s Social Media Marketing Summit. Each and every speaker made a valuable contribution of time, effort and passing on incredible knowledge. Charlene Li and Shel Israel rocked it out handling the keynote duties. They both brought up so many fascinating points.
Featured speakers, Brian Solis, Tara Hunt, Karl Long and James Lamberti each had very unique perspective. Tara, I’m still thinking about better ways to spread the love. That really resonated with people – especially me.
The brand spotlights provided insights into how many companies are being successful with social media campaigns. Ed Terpening of Wells Fargo, Ticketmaster’s Erik Hom, LaSandra Brill of Cisco (who recovered with class and grace from a computer restart) and of course, the Best Buy guys – Steve Bendt and Gary Koelling – were stellar. Not playing favorites, but how can you not love those guys from Best Buy? They were so cool.
The panels were very informative offering a variety of different views. Thanks to Brian Caldwell, Trisha Fawver, Celine Takatsuno, Chris Saad Will Moss, Joseph Hsieh, Paull Young, Todd, Steinman, Daniel Riveong, Amielle Lake (check out her timely book about the lives of investment bankers) and Ben Bajarin.
The audience asked probing questions and many including Trisha Fawver blogged about the event. In fact, you can check out Trisha’s coverage here. She’s smart, sassy and definitely social media savvy. Plus, we share the same birthday. Gotta give props for the fellow Aquarians.
Here are some other reports from the show.

Great conference Lisa! All the speakers and panelists were very knowledgeable with diverse points of view and entertaining with their presentations. I’m still spinning from Tara Hunt’s presentation on making Whuffie. Some of the highlights of conference included your Q&A with the Best Buy guys - Steve Bendt and Gary Koelling, Karl Long from Nokia and Ed Terpening from Wells Fargo.

[…] Everyone is talking about social media again this week. Some are still buzzing about the great Social Media Marketing Summit, which Revenue was involved in organizing last week. Then, this past Sunday, there was the Affiliate Summit: Social Marketing 2008, a one-day event in New York City. I couldn’t make it to the event, but heard it was information packed and fun. And next week, Federated Media and John Battelle are hosting the Conversational Media Summit in San Francisco. I scored a ticket to that exclusive event via Twitter (thanks, @johnbattelle). […]

[…] It’s been a very busy couple weeks running around, working the phones and promoting the Social Media Marketing Summit that we hosted last week at during the Online Market World conference in San Francisco. We were very pleased with the turn out and I tip my cap to our Program Director, Lisa Picarille who put together a great group of speakers for the conference. You can catch Lisa’s re-cap of the conference on her Lasting Impressions blog. […]
