I’m finally able look up for more than two minutes this week. That means that cleaning off my desk and my cleaning out my inbox before the big three-day weekend. Here are some things I found during my frenzy that I thought I’d share.
New Home
The Affiliate Thing podcast co-hosted by Shawn Collins and I has a new home. Starting today, you can now listen to the full 30 minute show at GeekCast.FM. It’s still the same affiliate-focused content – it’s just in a new place.
Decked Out
Right after Affiliate Summit I posted a recap and asked people to let me know if they had photos to share from the show. AKMG’s Kimberlee White sent me these. Check out the cool specially designed skate decks the company was giving away.
Easy Does It
Earlier this week, LinkShare announced Easy Links. They are contextual product ads that use proprietary intelligence to evaluate each ad with a score that’s based on a variety of factors, such as category, price, and discount. Then Easy Links serves up relevant ads. LinkShare says Easy Links are design to improve conversion rates.
How Will I Manage?
Google Ad Manager was also released earlier this week. The hosted ad serving and management service for small business publishers has been in beta since March.
AdSense account holders may access it integrate Ad Manager with AdSense campaigns to optimize unsold site inventory. Features include: support for 32 languages and international currencies; support for most third-party ad networks; automatic macro insertion; the ability to preview a site prior to executing an ad campaign; and targeting based on date, time, bandwidth, browser, operating system, and domain.
In honor of Labor Day, I will be having a labor free weekend. Enjoy!

jody,
affiliate thing moved to geekcast.fm after many listeners let us know that the show was slow to get posted after being recorded and that it was often cut off before the show ended. we looked into these issues for months but never got any response. so, we decided that being able to control the timing and the length of the show was best for us. plus, shawn and i also have another show on geekcast.fm and were pleased with how that was proceeding.
geekcast.fm has been around for a while now and it has always been a place for independent online marketers that want a way to post their podcasts.
