I’ve finally returned from New York and the LinkShare Symposium. It was a great time catching up with merchants, publishers and LinkShare executive. I also enjoyed attending the Golden Link Awards on Monday night. It’s so much fun to see everyone get all dolled up and it’s not just the ladies that look like a million bucks.
Of course, the whole time was made a little more fun (and way more stressful) because Revenue magazine was up for an award. We ended up taking home the award for The Performance Marketing Most Vocal Advocate. The competition was extremely stiff with both Scott Jangro and Internet Geek Girl (Stephanie Agresta) nominated in the same category.
I predicted Jangro would take home the gold. For all that didn’t get the “Sorry, Jangro” reference in my acceptance speech. It was a joke – not a jab. BTW: you would know that if you were a regular listener of the GeekCast.fm.
We wouldn’t have even been in the running without the incredible contributions from the entire Revenue editorial team. So, please give a big round of applause to Senior Writer, Eric Reyes; Senior Writer, Alexandra Wharton; and Art Director, Steve Wanczyk. Their stellar efforts made it all possible.
Here’s the official list of all the winners. You can also check out the video highlights from the event.
LinkShare switched up it up a bit this year. Instead of sessions and panels there were three main speakers, a dealmaker event and lots of networking. The speakers at the event included James Surowiecki, author of The Wisdom of Crowds, and Patti Freeman Evans, Research Director for Jupiter Research. For me, the afternoon session with E. Kinney Zalesne, co-author of Microtrends, was the most interesting and thought provoking.
