Interesting video.
I am someone who doe snot feel I look good on camera, but I guess we look how we look.

May I suggest one thing?

Do NOT use UP lighting (aka pointing chin to sky). It’s a classic horror movie lighting.
Ditto for camera angle. Up shoots can make you look snobbish, etc.

Use a desk lamp to light downwards and do not rely on your cameras own, backlighting or lighting correction.
Try to angel the camera so it is aiming DOWN on your nose, not up your nose.

Also try a darker background, which does not have it’s own lights. These confuse the web cam, and as wit your kitchen, can make you look pastie.

Not being critical, just these 3 settings can make one look 500% better.

You have inspired me Lisa! I've had a little camera for over a month now and although it is perfectly ready to use, I have never done it. I posted my first video blog today. It took me almost two hours to figure out how to embed it into my wordpress blog, but I did it!

I totally agree about the fear of the camera. I have always had a camera phobia when it comes to someone taking a photo of me so learning how to make a video has been way on the back burner for me while I struggle teaching myself other techie things. Thanks for the words of encouragement that will help many of us women to “get over it” and “getter done”!

Bravo Lisa:

I agree and encourage my clients to do it all the time, yet, of course I am even more guilty then most: not only am I not doing the video thing for myself, I actually used a Voki animated women and with a New Zealand accent to represent me on my home page.

I really need to get over myself and just post the videoblogs I have been putting off doing.
