The Affiliate Thing Now Recommended

By Lisa Picarille

September 24th, 2007

Today’s Wall St. Journal has an article about what Jay Berkowitz, CEO of Ten Golden Rules, an Internet marketing agency based in Boca Raton, Fla., is reading and listening to. Guess what? Jay apparently is a fan of the Affiliate Thing podcast hosted by Shawn Collins and myself. Thanks Jay. Check out what else has captured Jay’s attention.

I’ll be hosting the Affiliate Thing solo this week (and have a very special surprise guest) as Shawn Collins heads to jolly ole England for the first ever Affiliate Summit UK this week.

Shawn and his affiliate Summit co-founder Missy Ward will be giving a presentation to kick off the one-day event September 28 at the Olympia Conference Centre. Read more about the sold-out conference on Shawn’s blog. There’s even a link to download Shawn and Missy’s presentation.

Ad:Tech London is also happening this week. Will Whitehorn, president of Virgin Galactic, will be delivering the keynote.

If you’re going to either show or better yet, if you’re blogging about the conference, let me know. I can’t make it over The Pond and would love to get some updates.

Speaking of updates….I worked from home on Friday and spent nearly an hour watching episode #5 of the Next Internet Millionaire. The immunity challenge focused on contestants creating book titles and descriptors using scrambled words they chose randomly. David Hancock of Morgan James Publishing helped host Joel Comm with the judging.

The elimination challenge featured video expert Michael Koenigs and the remaining contestants had to create a compelling marketing video for Joel’s publishing company. I won’t spoil the outcome for anyone this time around (sorry about last week) but I will say that I now have a “favorite” contestant. The show has gotten better for me. There’s more drama and the challenges at least seem to make sense.

So… is your favorite contestant also your pick as the winner of the whole thing?
