Here’s the quick wrap up on day one of the Affiliate Summit’s full-day conference program. The keynote with Ze Frank was entertaining. There was definitely a message to be taken away from the speech that applies to this community but it was a little subtler than the average conference keynote. I enjoyed Ze very much and from my unscientific poll so did everyone else.
The sessions were crowded and very informational. There are four tracks running at the same time so it’s often hard to pick just one, but I think I did well in my choices. Every session will be available on video so at some point I will get to see them all. One that I’m sorry I missed was Wil Reynolds of Seer Interactive talking about SEO Site Critiques. Our Senior Editor Eric Reyes went to that one and raved. I remember Will being a huge fan favorite with his session last year.
I heard the live Moniker domain name auction on Monday night was really cool. I wasn’t able to make it, but just the idea of attending sparked lots of interesting lunch conversations about auctions, domain squatting, and the first ever domain registrations of those at our table.
Again, I skipped the big club party sponsored by WebMasterRadio.FM and some others. Instead, I opted for a quieter dinner with about 10 people before heading the Performics party in South Beach. That event was so chill – gorgeous outdoor setting at the Shore Club, unbelievable ambient candle lighting and great company. But man, it’s hot here in Miami – even at midnight and beyond.
When I returned to the hotel there was a familiar sight - ShareASale CEO Brian Littleton at the piano with a crowd gathered and signing along. It wouldn’t be the Affiliate Summit without that.
I was proud that I was able to extract myself from the fun and be in bed by just a little after 2am - that’s an early night for most that attend this show. After all, today is another big day. Here are the four most exciting things I’m looking forward today:
*The Keynote Interview
*Having Super Affiliate Connie Berg on the Affiliate Thing episode that Shawn and I are taping today.
*More streaming of live video from the Revenue Booth
*A nap

Good luck on getting the nap, Lisa.
Sleep is usually the most missed commodity during the affiliate summits!
