Our company had a very nice outing last Friday. We went sailing on the San Francisco Bay. It was a great break from work and time to enjoy the beautiful weather, a cool 54-foot sailboat and get reacquainted with co-workers (and use my lame and limited nautical jargon).

All Video Hands on Deck
YouTube.com is starting to do a rev-share using AdSense with it’s most prolific video posters. The YouTube.com Blog said: “Participating user-partners will be treated as other content partners and will have the ability to control the monetization of the videos they create. Once they’ve selected a video to be monetized, we’ll place advertising adjacent to their content so participating user-partners can reap the rewards from their work.”
Full Steam Ahead?
The Microsoft/Yahoo rumor mill is going at full tilt. This time round, however, it looks like the on again, off again deal is now off - again. The acquisition, in which the Redmond software behemoth was eyeing Yahoo for an estimated $50 billion (that’s with a capital “B”), was considered to be a blockbuster deal and reportedly talks have been underway for more than a month.

Oh, Buoy!
This week I’m headed over to the Emetrics Summit just three blocks down the street from my office in San Francisco. I’m looking forward to some great sessions on behavioral targeting and integrating customer feedback into websites. I expecting to learn lots of new things and come back with some great story ideas and also ways to improve our own internal processes when it comes to our online efforts.
