Busy week. The January/February edition of the magazine is now being printed. Phase one of the Revenuetoday.com website is set to go live next week. I’m in a mad rush to deal with Christmas-related things and personal stuff.
Meanwhile, the performance-marketing world keeps moving a million miles an hour. It’s hard work just to keep up. But here are some things that happened this week that are worth noting.
There will be a great charity auction held at the Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas. And I heard there are some big money bids that are coming in right now.
Also, you can catch a new Affiliate Thing podcast on Wednesday at noon (EST) on BlogTalkRadio.com. This time around Shawn Collins and will be talking about some timely topics and there will also be an interview with Lily Shen, senior manager of eBay’s U.S. Affiliate Program.
Plus, I’ll be asking Shawn what’s up with all the monkeys on his new calendar? Maybe we’ll even give away a copy of the calendar to one of our callers. Maybe Shawn can autograph it.
Monday, I attended a big announcement. It seemed like a very useful integration product from Omniture, but the message was lost as the press conference was way too long. Butt numbing is the phrase I’m going for. I’ve been to more than my fair share of press conferences over the last 16 or more years, but that was too much. It was so drawn out that it took wind out of the excitement of the product. Although I thought Shar Van Boskirk of Forrester Research was the highlight. Short and sweet is bad. Long and drawn out is bad. I think I actually fell asleep for a few minutes.
Let me know what excitement has happened in your week so far. lisap@revenuetoday.com
