Busy week. Deadlines galore. We are putting the January/February 2007 issue to bed. It will go to the printer first thing next week and then all I’ll need to worry about is holiday gifts, holiday baking, holiday decorating, holiday parties, and holiday travel. Sheesh. This holiday thing is almost like work but with more baked goods, credit card spending and seasonal libations.
Still, in the midst of all the holiday hoopla, I decided to take the plunge and join the podcasting throng. Starting next Wednesday (December 6th) Shawn Collins and I will be doing a weekly 30-minute podcast on BlogTalkRadio.com. It’s called Affiliate Thing. I’ll skip all the promotional stuff and just let you read the press release.
What the official release doesn’t say is that this is a strictly fun endeavor for me. Look, if I’m going to have to do extra work on top of the massive load I already have it better be something I enjoy. I love radio and used to do it way back in the old days in Boston as well as hosting several tech shows during the early streaming audio periods of the Net.
For me, having fun also means working with someone that makes the experience enjoyable. I respect Shawn - his status and accomplishments in the affiliate space - but mostly he and I have a good rapport. I get a kick out of his sense of humor and enjoy his company and that’s more than half the battle for working with someone.
We hope you’ll also enjoy the show also and be part of the merriment by calling during the show (Wednesdays at (646) 915-9599 between 12:00 p.m. and 12:30 p.m. EST). We have also set up an area on Google Groups where you can discuss topics from the show with us and suggest future items to cover. If you’d like to get an automatic update whenever a new Affiliate Thing show is created, be sure to subscribe to our RSS feed.
It should be a fun ride. lisap@revenuetoday.com
